Its Been Done Before, We Can Do It Again: The History of Black Wall Street

Welcome to ECON Community

The Economic Capital Organization Network (ECON) is currently developing itself as a business dedicated to revitalizing African American Communities in Chicago and other major cities worldwide.

Our vision is to completely reverse the direction of the African American Community by building a funding organization that will bring needed investment capital to under resourced communities.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau's Survey of Business Owners, metropolitan Chicago has more black owned businesses than any other geographically defined area in the country. Subsequently, the number of black businesses nationally was more than 1.9 million in 2007. It is with this in mind that ECON has developed a unique way to raise capital for minority businesses to flourish and will use those treasures to finance these businesses and thereby redevelop surrounding communities. In doing this, we would undoubtedly create many jobs and other opportunities for advancement.

ECON's main objective is to completely diminish the need for African Americans to depend on banks and the Federal Government for their business financing, yet provide the opportunity for learning and support to build viable businesses within their communities and for themselves.
